How to Reach Katao

By Air

The nearest airport to Katao is Bagdogra. It takes around 8 hours to reach Katao from Bagdogra Airport. The total distance is around 222 kilometers.

By Train

The closest railway station is New Jalpaiguri (NJP). From NJP, the road journey to Katao also takes about 8 hours. The distance is roughly 217 kilometers.

By Road

You can hire a vehicle directly from Bagdogra or NJP.

Many travelers stop overnight in Gangtok to break up the journey and get the required travel permit.

The drive from Gangtok to Katao takes around 5 hours, covering a distance of 128 kilometers.
