Darjeeling Kalimpong Tour Package Details
Day 1 – Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / (NJP) / Siliguri Bus Station to Kalimpong Transfer
You will be greeted by our official at Bagdogra Airport (IXB), New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP), Tenzing Norgay Bus Terminus (Junction), or Siliguri.
They will assist you with your journey to Kalimpong. The distance is about 100 kilometers, and the drive takes around 2.5 to 3 hours.
Once you arrive in Kalimpong, you will check into your hotel. Kalimpong is a peaceful hill station located on a ridge overlooking the Teesta River.
It is known for its pleasant climate, stunning Himalayan views, and its location near popular tourist spots. It is also the district headquarters, situated at an elevation of 1,243 meters (4,078 feet).
After checking in, the evening is free for you to explore Kalimpong bazaar, where you can shop for handicrafts and souvenirs. You will spend the night at your hotel in Kalimpong.
Day 2 – Kalimpong Full Day Sightseeing
Today, your Darjeeling Kalimpong Mirik Tour Package starts with breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, you’ll head out for local sightseeing in Kalimpong, beginning at Durbin Dara Hills. On this hill, there’s a Tibetan monastery called Durpin Monastery.
From the top terrace of the monastery, you can enjoy stunning views of Kalimpong town with the majestic Kanchenjunga in the background. You’ll also see the valley, the plains, the Teesta and Reang Rivers flowing below, and the beautiful tea estates in the Peshoke area.
Next, you’ll visit the Pine View Cactus Nursery, which has an impressive collection of cacti and ornamental plants. From the lawn at the back, you’ll get another amazing view of Kalimpong town. After that, you’ll explore Mangal Dham, a beautiful temple dedicated to Lord Krishna, built in memory of Guruji Mangal Dasji.
You’ll also visit Dr. Graham’s Homes School, which was founded in 1900 by Dr. J. A. Graham as a school and orphanage for Anglo-Indian children.
It’s located on the way to Deolo Hills, and you can take a stroll through its peaceful campus. On the way to Deolo Hills, you’ll stop for lunch.
Deolo Hills is an 8-acre park with lovely flower gardens and viewpoints offering breathtaking views of Kanchenjunga.
You can also hike to the Hanuman Mandir, which provides serene and picturesque views of the surrounding landscape, including Sikkim and nearby Lava and Kafer Hills, especially on clear, sunny days.
After sightseeing, you can either relax in your hotel room or explore the local market for handmade goods and delicious local or Chinese food. You’ll spend the night in Kalimpong.
Day 3 – Sighseeing Excursion to Lava
Start your day with an early breakfast. Afterward, head out for a drive to Lava, which is about 32 kilometers from Kalimpong. Lava and Loleygaon are two peaceful mountain villages surrounded by the Neora Valley National Park.
Lava is at an altitude of 7,016 feet (2,138 meters), while Loleygaon is at 5,500 feet. The two villages are 22 kilometers apart, but due to poor road conditions, the trip focuses only on Lava.
Lava is a small village located 34 kilometers (21 miles) east of Kalimpong. It is one of the few places in West Bengal that experiences snowfall during winter and serves as the gateway to Neora Valley National Park.
The drive to Lava is beautiful, with changing vegetation from tropical trees to alpine forests of fir, pine, and birch. Lava is known for trekking and birdwatching.
While in Lava, visit the Jamgyong Kongtrul Monastery. After the trip, return to Kalimpong. Spend your evening exploring Kalimpong bazaar, where you can shop for handicrafts and souvenirs. Enjoy an overnight stay in Kalimpong.
Day 4 – Kalimpong to Darjeeling Transfer
Early in the morning, have your breakfast. After that, the driver will take you to Darjeeling. It’s about 55 kilometers away and takes around 2 hours by car.
Along the way, there might be two stops—one at Peshok Viewpoint and another at Lamahatta.
Darjeeling, located at 2,123 meters, is a beautiful place surrounded by tea gardens and the majestic Himalayas.
Known as the “Queen of the Hills,” it offers stunning views of Mount Everest, Mount Kanchenjunga, and the Himalayan range.
